DG Rally is packing up and heading North to Houghton, Michigan for the 2011 Lake Superior Pro Rally and Final event of the Max-Attack Triple Crown! This race lasts 2 days and covers over 600 miles of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We’re ready for miles of unforgiving conditions, weather, and unknowns. POR, Press on Regardless, was the original name given to this event due to its extreme stages and conditions.
DG Rally plans to Press on Regardless in 2011, just like 2004 and 2005. “Our last attempt at LSPR in 2006 resulted in a roll and DNF on the first day. This time around, finishing is the number one goal. The roads can be brutal and just keeping the car together can be a big challenge.” said DG Rally’s driver Dave Grenwis. “Besides, we want to put on a good show for our fans and sponsors.”
DG Rally’s newest sponsor, G & J Silt Fencing with locations in Calumet and Traverse City Michigan has hopped on board and has helped make this event possible. Long time sponsor’s KSG CPA (Duluth, MN), Townhall Brewery (Minneapolis) and Terra Firma Clothing, continue to provide support to the team.
The excitement from the DG Rally team is obvious, “I can’t wait to RALLY!!!1” exclaimed co-driver Drew Burkholder. “Our diehard service crew put in a lot of hours to make sure we could get here.”
The event officially starts on Friday afternoon in Houghton and commences in on Saturday evening in Lanse. The team plans to attend the shakedown stage on Thursday evening at the Keweenaw Research Center in Calumet. For the official event schedule visit www.lsprorally.com.
